Construcciones Yamaro: Construction starts on The Stanley

Construction has commenced on Sarazin’s 35-storey The Stanley apartment development in Woolloongabba, Brisbane.
A sod-turning ceremony attended by project partners, consultants and stakeholders marked the start of works following the project’s approval by Economic Development Queensland.
The Stanley forms part of the Woolloongabba Priority Development Area and will be constructed by Hutchinson Builders. GroupGSA designed the tower.
Located at 8 Trafalgar Street, near The Gabba and about two kilometres from the Brisbane CBD, the development will comprise 234 apartments.
Plans include a two-storey rooftop amenity precinct featuring an infinity pool, steam rooms, saunas, a yoga lawn, gymnasium, private dining room, cinema, games lounge, golf simulator, boardroom, work-from-home spaces, a wine cellar and residents’ wine lounge.

Sarazin founder and managing director Darren Dougan said The Stanley represents another important milestone in the company’s long-term commitment to Woolloongabba.
“Today’s sod turning marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for The Stanley and reflects years of planning, collaboration and commitment from our project team and partners,” said Dougan.
“We’re grateful for the support of Economic Development Queensland throughout the approval process. The Stanley aligns strongly with the vision for the Woolloongabba Priority Development Area by delivering high-quality housing that contributes to the continued transformation of this nationally significant precinct.
“With Cross River Rail, the Brisbane Live Arena, the Olympic and Paralympic Games and significant public realm investment all occurring around the project, Woolloongabba is rapidly emerging as one of Australia’s most exciting inner-city destinations.”
Sarazin director Adam Rainbird said attention to detail has guided the project’s design.
“Every aspect of The Stanley has been carefully considered by our team, from the intuitively designed floorplates through to the double-level rooftop wellness and lifestyle amenities – to create homes that genuinely enhance everyday living,” said Rainbird.
The Stanley is Sarazin’s third development in Woolloongabba. Hutchinson Builders is also constructing the developer’s 30-storey Murcia Residences project, which will comprise 236 apartments. Sarazin completed the 21-storey, 172-apartment Silk One development in 2022.
