The Tasmanian Government has launched Building Tasmania, a new central agency designed to accelerate infrastructure delivery across the state.

Tasmanian Minister for Infrastructure and Transport Kerry Vincent said the establishment of Building Tasmania marked an important step in the state’s approach to project delivery.

“For the first time, Tasmania will have a single agency dedicated to delivering the major projects our communities rely on every day. This is about clearer accountability, stronger coordination and better outcomes for Tasmanians,” said Vincent.

“By centralising infrastructure delivery, we can reduce duplication, streamline decision-making and ensure we are delivering homes, roads, schools and many other projects in the best possible way.”

Vincent said major infrastructure continues to be a driver of economic growth, supporting local jobs and building confidence across the state.

“Building Tasmania will bring together specialist expertise to manage our most complex and high-value projects, lifting our capacity, reducing risk and ensuring we deliver infrastructure for future generations,” said Vincent. “It will also strengthen our partnership with industry through clearer pipelines, more predictable processes and more opportunities for Tasmanian businesses. Above all, Building Tasmania is about delivering for Tasmanians.”
