Bürkert Australia will bring its intelligent fluid-control expertise to Data Centre Build Expo as a Silver Sponsor.

Taking place on 15 to 16 September 2027 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, the event will connect the people and organisations responsible for planning, designing, constructing and commissioning the next generation of data centres.

For Bürkert Australia, the decision to support the event reflects changing requirements across the sector and the growing importance of fluid management within critical infrastructure.

“Bürkert Australia decided to sponsor Data Centre Build Expo because the event brings together the organisations responsible for delivering the physical infrastructure behind Australia’s digital future,” says Bürkert Australia national engineering manager Nelson Chymiak.

“This closely aligns with our expertise in intelligent fluid control, including valves, flow measurement, pressure monitoring and water-quality management for critical cooling and utility systems.

“The event provides an opportunity to engage with data centre owners, operators, engineers, contractors and infrastructure specialists, while contributing to discussions around building facilities that are reliable, efficient, scalable and prepared for increasingly demanding workloads.”

Prime Creative Media head of marketing for events Molly Hancock says Bürkert Australia’s support is a welcome addition to the inaugural expo.

“The company’s involvement brings a valuable perspective to the event and reflects the depth of expertise required to deliver modern data centre facilities,” she says.

Chymiak says Australia’s expanding data centre market is creating opportunities to improve how critical infrastructure is designed and operated.

“As rack densities increase and liquid cooling becomes more important, precise fluid control and monitoring will be essential to maintaining performance, efficiency and uptime,” he says.

“We see particular opportunities in cooling-water management, liquid-cooling applications, coolant distribution units, water-quality monitoring, digital connectivity and the integration of reliable control systems within broader building and data centre management platforms.

“For Bürkert, this presents an opportunity to work alongside customers and project partners from concept and design through to commissioning and operation, helping deliver robust and adaptable fluid-control strategies.”

The complexity of these facilities is also placing greater emphasis on how infrastructure systems work together.

“A data centre is much more than the IT equipment it houses,” says Chymiak. “Its performance depends on the successful integration of power, cooling, water, fire protection, safety, building systems and control infrastructure. An event focused on physical construction creates a valuable forum for the industry to discuss these systems as part of a connected, mission-critical environment.”

He says Bürkert Australia hopes to strengthen relationships across the supply chain and increase awareness of the role that intelligent fluid control can play in improving facility performance.

“We also want to share practical knowledge from Bürkert’s experience in cooling, water and process-control applications, while learning more about the specific challenges faced by data centre developers, operators, contractors and engineering teams in Australia,” he says.

“Ultimately, we hope our involvement leads to valuable technical conversations and collaborative solutions that help support safer, more efficient and resilient data centre infrastructure.”

For Hancock, that exchange of knowledge will be an important part of the event.

“The industry is moving quickly, and there is a real opportunity to bring together the people who are solving these challenges every day,” she says. “We want Data Centre Build Expo to be a place where those conversations can happen openly, with practical insights that can translate into better project outcomes.”

Chymiak says the team is looking forward to meeting the people shaping Australia’s data centre infrastructure, from developers and operators to engineering firms, contractors and technology partners.

“The event will provide an opportunity to discuss the practical challenges of delivering high-density, high-availability facilities, particularly around liquid cooling, flow and pressure control, water quality, system integration and long-term maintainability,” he says.

“Overall, our team looks forward to exchanging ideas, gaining deeper insight into the industry’s direction and demonstrating how Bürkert can support data centre projects throughout their lifecycle, from design and construction through to commissioning and operation.”

Data Centre Build Expo will be co-located with Converge Expo at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre on 15 to 16 September 2027.

Exhibition stands are now available for businesses looking to connect with the people building Australia’s digital future. Visit the event website to get involved.
