Construction is now underway at Lendlease’s new waterfront residential development, Regatta, marking the next chapter in the evolution of Victoria Harbour’s Collins Wharf precinct.

Situated between the Yarra River and the harbour, at the convergence of Collins Street and the water, Regatta at Collins Wharf is a 29-storey development designed by architect Warren and Mahoney. It features a mix of 317 residences, each offering sought-after views of the water.

Residents of Regatta at Collins Wharf will enjoy a hotel-style lobby with concierge service and access to a range of wellness facilities, including an indoor swimming pool, spa, sauna, steam room, gym and multipurpose rooms.

Victoria’s Minister for Planning Sonya Kilkenny noted that Regatta at Collins Wharf will provide hundreds of homes along the Yarra River, conveniently located near the CBD, employment opportunities, tram services, Southern Cross Station and Marvel Stadium.

“We’ll continue to pull every lever we can to enable 800,000 homes of all types to be built over the next decade, including in our established suburbs close to jobs, transport and services,” said Kilkenny.

The delivery of Regatta follows the successful completion of the flagship No. 1 Collins Wharf development by Lendlease in 2019 and is the second of six proposed residential developments for this location. With over 80 per cent of residences at Regatta pre-sold, the precinct has already attracted significant interest from buyers, prompting an early sales release of residences in the third development, Ancora.

Daniel Dugina, executive director, Development at Lendlease, highlighted the development’s strong popularity: “The significant demand for the Collins Wharf neighbourhood reflects the appeal of this location, with the residences continuing to be welcomed by a diverse range of buyers – from first home buyers to downsizers – all seeking a quality home within this desirable dual-waterfront neighbourhood, with easy access to the CBD.”

“Commencing construction of Regatta at Collins Wharf reflects our commitment to deliver high-quality and sustainable housing in prime Melbourne locations.

“The precinct’s unique position offers an exciting opportunity for the city centre to expand westwards, connecting Melbourne to the waterfront.”

As part of the Collins Wharf precinct, Lendlease is delivering over 5,000 square metres of new public space. This includes the extension of Australian Walk, which forms part of the City of Melbourne’s Greenline project, and new green spaces surrounding the Regatta and Ancora residences. Designed by landscape architect Openwork and inspired by First Nations culture, these spaces will feature Indigenous plants and landscaped areas dedicated to wellbeing activities for residents and visitors.

Lord Mayor of Melbourne Nicholas Reece said Regatta at Collins Wharf is a success story for Docklands, providing more homes for Melbourne in a prime location.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Lendlease to deliver another stage of the Greenline Project – the extension of Australian Walk, which will incorporate First Nations storytelling through native plantings and design,” said Reece.

“The appetite for quality and considered design is evident, with 80 per cent of Regatta housing pre-sold – proving the Collins Wharf neighbourhood is well on its way to being one of Melbourne’s most desirable addresses.”

Upon completion, targeted for 2026, Regatta residents will enjoy a waterfront lifestyle just a short walk from Melbourne’s CBD, with easy access to the city’s hospitality, sports, arts and entertainment venues, as well as transport options at their doorstep.

Designed as an all-electric building with electric vehicle infrastructure, Regatta at Collins Wharf aims to achieve a 5 Star Green Star certification.
