Coronation Property Group (Coronation) has officially commenced construction on Precinct 75, a $420 million master-planned build-to-rent (BTR) community in Sydney, marked by a sod-turning event.

The former industrial site on Mary Street in St Peters will be transformed into a new lifestyle destination for the inner west, offering over 200 BTR homes just 15 minutes from Sydney’s CBD.

The project will feature a range of amenities for residents, including a resort-style pool, gymnasium and shared green spaces, such as a fully fenced dog park accessible to both residents and the wider community. The site will also boast 15,000 square metres of artisanal retail and commercial space, honouring its historical significance as a ‘makers precinct’ and embracing its industrial heritage.

Designed by Cox Architecture, Precinct 75 will integrate with the creative vibrancy of Sydney’s inner west, delivering more accessible homes with liveability at the forefront.

The sod-turning event was attended by Katie Stevenson, NSW director at The Property Council of Australia; representatives from the Inner West Council; Coronation’s Executive Team; project partners and consultants. The event also featured a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony, organised by the Metropolitan Local Aboriginal Land Council.

Joe Nahas, owner of Coronation, highlighted that Precinct 75 is expected to contribute to alleviating Sydney’s housing shortage by providing high-quality rental homes for close to 1,000 people.

“Precinct 75’s proximity to essential amenities and major transport networks makes it an ideal location for our latest BTR offering,” said Nahas. “Our vision for the site extends beyond just delivering buildings; we aim to create vibrant, accessible communities for all Australians through our build-to-rent projects.”

“This project will benefit essential workers in nearby hospitals and schools, offering them quality living spaces within easy reach of their workplaces and close to the heart of Sydney.”

Coronation’s stand-alone BTR company, Nation, will operate Precinct 75, which is slated for completion by 2027. Nation is projected to operate around 2,000 apartments by 2027.
