This $400 million tower, which will house a new collection of apartments managed by The Star Residences , has completed its vertical construction, with an opening slated for early 2025. This is the second landmark tower on the Gold Coast being developed by The Star Entertainment Group and its consortium partners, Chow Tai Fook Enterprises and Far East Consortium. It follows the top-out of the first 53-storey tower, which marked the Australian debut of the Dorsett hotel brand in September 2021. The public can explore indicative concepts and new visuals for the proposed mixed-use, multi-storey ‘Tapangka on Franklin’ development. The project is expected to provide accommodation for around 1,000 people, with 35 per cent designated as affordable housing. The former Adelaide Bus Station site is set to be transformed with mixed-use towers and a signature building, including a hotel with over 200 rooms, a significant build-to-rent component, market housing for sale, and a variety of commercial and retail spaces.
