Construcciones Yamaro: Mirvac achieves third consecutive 5 Gold Star iCIRT rating
Mirvac Constructions has been awarded the highest possible 5 Gold Star iCIRT rating for the third consecutive year – a distinction that highlights its continued commitment to construction quality.
Issued by regulated ratings agency Equifax, the iCIRT (Independent Construction Industry Rating Tool) system was introduced to help identify trustworthy developers and builders in New South Wales. Developed in collaboration with government and industry stakeholders, the tool forms part of the state’s Building Strong Foundations reform agenda implemented by former Building Commissioner David Chandler.
One of the six key reform pillars focuses on rating systems that assess the capability and track record of construction professionals. Mirvac was the first business to receive the 5 Gold Star rating in 2022.
Stuart Penklis, CEO of development at Mirvac, said the latest rating underscores the company’s ongoing pursuit of excellence across its commercial and residential projects.
“Receiving the 5 Gold Star iCIRT rating is in recognition of the consistent, unwavering dedication and expertise of Mirvac Constructions, and to obtain the 5 Gold Star rating for the third time is both a rare distinction and real honour for our business,” said Penklis.

He added that for property buyers – particularly those purchasing off the plan – independent ratings provide a vital layer of assurance.
“Consumers are more informed than ever before, as they should be. Buying a home is one of the biggest investments people will make, and property buyers should have every confidence that their investment will stand the test of time,” said Penklis.
“We regularly receive feedback from our purchasers that they have chosen to buy a home with us because we offer a superior product and are a trusted brand – and our iCIRT rating naturally plays a role in that decision.”
The rating is based on six key criteria, including capability, conduct, character, capacity, capital and counterparties, and involves a rigorous independent assessment by Equifax.
Brad Walters, general manager of commercial at Equifax, said Mirvac’s performance reflects strong industry credentials.
“This is a significant accomplishment, with Mirvac demonstrating consistently high performance across all six assessment criteria that make up the iCIRT ratings assessment,” said Walters. “We are proud of the pivotal role iCIRT is playing in rebuilding trust and transparency in the construction sector.”
Recent Equifax consumer research found that 69 per cent of Australians who are aware of the iCIRT system report a more positive perception of the construction industry, compared to just 7 per cent of those who are unaware.
“This improvement in consumer confidence is being driven by industry leaders like Mirvac, who have consistently showcased a high level of resilience and reliability in the delivery of trustworthy built assets,” said Walters.
