Construcciones Yamaro: Brewing workplace connection with NESCAFÉ and R U OK?
NESCAFÉ in Nestlé Professional has partnered with public health promotion charity R U OK? as its official ‘cuppa’ partner. Throughout the three-year partnership, NESCAFÉ is encouraging Australians to connect with family, friends and colleagues over a coffee – using these moments to ask the question, “Are you OK?”
Research conducted by Verian for the charity found that people who engaged in more frequent R U OK? conversations were more likely to feel a sense of belonging and be comfortable discussing their wellbeing, compared to those who had fewer such chats.
Whether it is in the office kitchen, a breakroom or on a construction site, NESCAFÉ and R U OK? are working to bring people together over a cuppa. In the time it takes to share a coffee, a meaningful conversation can begin.

As a key part of the partnership, NESCAFÉ in Nestlé Professional supports the R U OK? Conversation Convoy – an initiative that travels to regional communities across the country to encourage Australians to look out for their friends, family and colleagues.
The convoy recently made a special stop at the Nestlé Smithtown factory, where factory workers and office staff embraced the opportunity to engage with one another. More than 40 check-in chats took place as staff gathered over NESCAFÉ coffee, creating an atmosphere of genuine camaraderie and positive workplace culture.
The R U OK? team provided practical advice and resources on the day, helping the Smithtown team feel safe and supported in starting these conversations. The visit demonstrated how easily mental health check-ins can be integrated into the workday.
Sparking connection since 1997
Nestlé Professional has a long-standing commitment to fostering connection in Australian workplaces. The company believes coffee plays an important role in workplace culture and has been helping to spark conversations since 1997. NESCAFÉ Blend 43, which is roasted and blended at its Gympie factory in regional Queensland, reflects this focus on community and connection.
The partnership with R U OK? reinforces the message that checking in with a workmate should not be limited to one day a year; it can happen any day.
Nestlé Professional is encouraging workplaces to take a moment, share a cup of NESCAFÉ Blend 43 and ask a colleague, “Are you OK?”
