Stockland has marked a construction milestone at its MPark precinct, with the topping out of 15 Khartoum Road and near completion of 17 Khartoum Road – the new Australian head office for Johnson & Johnson’s Innovative Medicines and MedTech businesses.

Located in the Macquarie Park Innovation District (MPID), MPark is a $2 billion mixed-use precinct designed to attract leading health, pharmaceutical, life sciences and technology organisations.

“We are pleased to soon welcome Johnson & Johnson to MPark as we continue our journey to create one of Australia’s largest innovation precincts for life sciences and technology here in Macquarie Park,” said Frank Ianni, head of workplace development at Stockland.

“MPark will provide a modern and sustainable workplace for Johnson & Johnson – one that supports employee collaboration and wellbeing, and which maintains the long-standing presence that Johnson & Johnson has had in Macquarie Park.”

Designed by Danish architecture studio 3XN with an integrated fit-out by Gensler, 17 Khartoum Road is nearing completion. Next door, 15 Khartoum Road – designed by CHROFI – is expected to be complete by the end of 2025.

The precinct is already home to companies including WISE Medical, Audika and Medtronic. It is designed to support a networked, multidisciplinary community focused on research, technology and health.

City of Ryde CEO Wayne Rylands, who attended the topping out ceremony, said MPark was a key asset in the nationally significant MPID.

“The MPID is already a globally competitive innovation district, making an annual economic contribution of $13.6 billion to the NSW economy,” said Rylands. “It is also estimated that every year over $700 million is invested in R&D in MPID, translating to $2.6 billion in benefits to the Australian economy.”

Stockland is also progressing plans for MPark Stage 2, with secured power (allocated and subject to contract finalisation) and zoning for more than 100 megawatts of data centre development.

The MPark precinct is being delivered in partnership with investment group La Caisse.
