Construcciones Yamaro: Eastwood Private Hospital reaches completion milestone
Construction works have officially wrapped at Eastwood Private Hospital, with BESIX Watpac successfully delivering the project to practical completion.
This marks the final major stage in what was a technically complex and highly coordinated build, delivered safely, on time and in compliance with stringent healthcare standards.
Al Crosby, general manager for South Australia and Victoria at BESIX Watpac, acknowledged the collaborative effort behind the project.
“Eastwood Private Hospital is a standout project that reflects the strength of collaboration between all parties – as well as the depth of engagement with our well-connected subcontractor networks, with 87 per cent sourced locally, over 1,600 jobs supported and 360,000 construction hours delivered,” said Crosby.
“We’re also proud to support our local community by donating $5,000 to our neighbour throughout the construction phase – Cancer Council SA – through the BESIX Watpac Community Fund. This contribution helps advance their vital work across the region.”
Tom Patrick, head of healthcare property at Barwon Investment Partners, described the hospital as a key investment in regional capacity.
“We’re proud to see Eastwood Private Hospital move from vision to reality. It’s an important addition to Adelaide’s private healthcare network and a reflection of our long-term commitment to supporting high-quality, accessible medical services,” said Patrick.
“This facility will help alleviate pressure on existing services by expanding access to surgical care, and its design supports a modern, patient-centred model of care. Barwon is pleased to partner in a project that brings meaningful benefits to both clinicians and the community.”

Jonathan Edelstein, chief executive officer of Fortius Hospitals, said the project demonstrates what strong partnerships can achieve.
“Eastwood Private Hospital is a state-of-the-art facility delivered on time, on budget and to the highest standards,” said Edelstein.
“We’re extremely grateful to BESIX Watpac for delivering an outstanding building that supports the growing healthcare needs of our community in Adelaide. This was a great opportunity to partner with a local builder, and the result is a high-quality hospital that meets every requirement for the latest healthcare.”
BESIX Watpac was responsible for the design and construction of the facility, which includes a six-theatre perioperative floor, a 51-bed ward, and integrated medical imaging and pathology services. The project scope also included the fit-out of ground level and levels 3 and 4, along with all lobby and corridor areas, carpark infrastructure, external landscaping and associated plant and equipment.
With construction now complete, Eastwood Private Hospital is ready to begin operations – bolstering healthcare delivery in Adelaide and providing long-term benefits for the wider community.
