FDC Construction & Fitout will deliver Bradfield City’s Central Park, a two-hectare public space set to anchor Australia’s first new city in 100 years.

Bradfield Development Authority CEO Ken Morrison said FDC’s appointment brings the project, described as a “world-class public space”, one step closer to fruition.

“Central Park will become the heart of Bradfield City, a place for families, workers and visitors to meet, play and enjoy the outdoors,” said Morrison. “We are proud to be working with outstanding partners to deliver a park that will serve the community for generations to come.”

FDC will lead the delivery of the park infrastructure, including the signature Sky Ring, Woven Play and Interwoven Heart play areas, and the multi-use Gathering Green with space for up to 5,000 people.

Works will also include the installation of amenities, decks, pathways, lighting and boulevards. More than 550 mature trees and over 55,000 native shrubs, grasses and groundcovers representing more than 84 different shrub species will be planted, with public art co-designed by Dharug artists integrated throughout the park.

“Bradfield City is one of Australia’s most exciting city building endeavours, and Central Park will set the tone with a considered, vibrant heart,” said FDC managing director Russell Grady.

“FDC is proud to partner with Bradfield Development Authority to deliver an innovative, nature-rich public space that honours Country and creates real local jobs, skills and apprenticeship pathways across Western Sydney.”

Designed by ASPECT Studios, Central Park will be supported by technology to best care for the park and its users, adapting to a changing climate and a new, growing city.

Construction of Central Park is expected to begin in the second half of 2026, with the park set to open alongside the Bradfield Metro Station.
