Construcciones Yamaro: Converge Expo 2025 proves a success for construction sector
The inaugural Converge Expo 2025 brought together construction industry leaders, innovators and professionals from across Australia and beyond during two successful show days.
Held on 17 to 18 September, the event drew more than 5,000 people to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, offering one of the only Australian-owned major exhibitions dedicated to municipal works, civil and commercial construction.
The event combined live demonstrations, equipment displays and conference sessions to connect decision makers and highlight the tools and technology shaping the sector.
Among those in attendance were Victorian minister for economic growth, jobs and finance Danny Pearson, and Civil Contractors Federation Victoria CEO and Victorian Civil Construction Industry Alliance president Lisa Kinross. Addressing the Main Stage, Kinross outlined how industry could embrace current challenges in order to deliver Australia’s 10-year, $120 billion infrastructure pipeline.
Innovation on stage
A central attraction of Converge Expo 2025 was the Major Projects Stage, which provided leading contractors with a platform to share updates on some of the nation’s most significant construction projects.
Sessions included presentations on the new Bridgewater Bridge, the Mickleham Road Upgrade and Inland Rail, offering behind-the-scenes insight into strategic planning and the challenges overcome in delivering these landmark developments. Contributions came from Wellness in Infrastructure, McConnell Dowell, BMD and the Victorian Infrastructure Delivery Authority, Inland Rail, HDR and Kapitol Group, CPB Contractors, Laing O’Rourke and Webuild.
The dedicated stage also offered attendees valuable opportunities to connect directly with senior industry leaders and project stakeholders.
Complementing this was the Municipal and Solutions Hubs Stage, designed to provide practical knowledge and tools at a local level. Sessions addressed topics such as building for growing communities, sustainable solutions and digitising the worksite, helping councils and industry representatives share approaches for sector-wide improvement.

Strong industry presence
Almost 100 exhibitors brought the latest technology, products and services to life across the exhibition hall. From established contractors to emerging innovators, attendees had the chance to explore solutions ranging from asset management and construction machinery to software, maintenance and engineering.
Co-located with No-Dig Down Under – the southern hemisphere’s only large-scale conference and exhibition dedicated to trenchless technology – and Carpentry Expo, the combined shows attracted around 8,000 attendees.
Siobhan Rocks, general manager of events at Prime Creative Media, said the event demonstrated strong momentum for what could become a fixture on the industry calendar.
“We couldn’t have asked for a better start to Converge Expo. Thousands of attendees came through the doors, and the energy was incredible from the moment we opened. For anyone passionate about the future of infrastructure and construction, this was the place to be,” said Rocks.
“Australia’s infrastructure pipeline is the foundation of our nation’s growth and resilience. Converge provides the platform for industry leaders to come together and drive that vision forward.”
