Construcciones Yamaro: Only three weeks to go until Inside Construction Expo 2023

The Inside Construction Expo 2023 conference program has been announced, with six themes being discussed over three stages across the two-day event.

More than 150 construction industry professionals and experts will be speaking throughout the conference addressing key themes for the major vertical construction and infrastructure sectors, including Australian Rail Track Corporation Head of Safety and Environment James Kennedy.

Kennedy has over 27 years’ experience in the construction industry working for Tier 1 Contractors both in Australia and Asia. Now applying his extensive construction delivery experience and client-side focus to lead safety and environment functions at business unit level to create safer and more sustainable workplaces, he will be sharing his insight and knowledge of managing construction teams and contractor safety management.

GHD Smart Cities and Digital Solutions Lead Harman Singh will also be speaking at the event. With over 20 years of global professional experience in executive and management roles within various technology-related businesses, Singh will be joining a panel discussion on Victoria’s Level Crossing Removal Project.

Hear from Monash University’s faculty of engineering experts including Senior Lecturer in Construction Engineering and Management Dr Yihai Fang, Smart Pavements Australia Research Collaboration Hub CEO Arooran Rajah, ARC Hub for Smart Next Generation Transport Pavements Director Professor Jayantha Kodikara, and Research Associate Professor in Geomechanics Engineering Director Qianbing Zhang. They’ll be covering a range of topics such as the benefits of digital twins and using sustainable materials in construction.

Further, RMIT University School of Global Property Construction and Project Management Professor Sarah Holdsworth will join Fulton Hogan Alliance General Manager Dean Riha, National Association of Women in Construction National Chairperson Christina Yiakkoupis, and Crane Industry Council of Australia Board Director Karli Sutherland on a women in construction panel discussion. Holdsworth has a strong understanding of the issues facing women in the construction industry, having undertaken research for the Victorian State Government since 2019. Her research has provided evidence and a strong foundation for implementing the actions in Victoria’s Women in Construction Strategy 2019-22 and developing and evaluating the Building Equality Policy.
