Construcciones Yamaro: Expressions of Interest open for Junction Place Wodonga project

Development Victoria is encouraging developers to express their interest to develop five key sites as part of the Junction Place project in Wodonga.

Almost 50,000 square metres of land is being made available to interested developers during the Expression of Interest process, which is now open and closes on Monday 21 August.

Development Victoria Group Head Precincts Niall Cunningham said this is an exciting opportunity to shape the future direction of Junction Place.

“We will continue to work closely with the City of Wodonga council and the community to plan and deliver the best outcomes for Junction Place,” Mr Cunningham said. “We are seeking developers passionate about making a positive impact in Wodonga, one of regional Victoria’s fastest growing cities.”

“The next stage is an opportunity to build on the good work already done to revitalise the heart of central Wodonga and we want developers to come forward with their best proposals to enhance the precinct further.”

The initial Registration of Interest process earlier this year attracted strong responses from local, Victorian and interstate developers.

The EOI encourages developers to consider a range of possible mixed-use development opportunities including commercial, retail, entertainment, restaurants and cafes, health and medical facilities.

The project has the potential to create more than 1,000 local jobs and boost economic growth in the northern Victorian city.

More than $30 million has already been invested by the Victorian and Federal Governments along with the City of Wodonga to restore and repurpose Junction Place’s historic railway station and goods shed into restaurants and cafes and delivered public spaces including the Promenade, Junction Square, Sidings Park and Richardson Park.

Development Victoria is delivering the Junction Place precinct in partnership with the City of Wodonga. Developers will be able to bid for all or any number of the sites as part of the process and it’s anticipated that a preferred developer will be selected by the end of the year.
