Construcciones Yamaro: Architect sought for Penguins Dial Park upgrades

The Tasmanian Government is seeking an architect to design the $25 million upgrade to Penguin’s Dial Park Regional Sports Complex.

Guy Barnett, Tasmania’s Minister for State Development, Construction and Housing, said appointing the architect will mark an exciting stage in the project where it really starts coming to life.

“The selected architect will work with the Central Coast Council and stakeholders to define the project scope and the development of conceptual designs,” Minister Barnett said. “The initial scope is expected to include additional grandstand seating, upgraded services like lighting and broadcasting facilities, new player and spectator amenities as well as car parking.”

“The upgrades will allow the region to host state-wide and national sporting and entertainment events, including supporting the Tasmanian AFL and AFLW team and generating broader community and economic benefits.

“Building or upgrading facilities like these encourages more young Tasmanians to get into sport for fun, health or competition and possibly even taking the next step to the national or international stage.”

Minister Barnett said that a development application for the Dial Park upgrades will be lodged later this year following the appointment of the architect, final agreement on scope and the preparation of designs.
