Construcciones Yamaro: InfraBuild boosts safety and efficiency through robotic innovation
InfraBuild has installed an advanced robotic system at its Sydney Rolling Mill to improve safety, efficiency and data accuracy.
The system automates the process of tagging finished steel products, ensuring accurate specification, certification and manufacturing data.
InfraBuild innovation manager Sharmy Francis said that the robotic bundle tagging system identifies optimal placement areas and guarantees a reliable stud attachment.

“The robotic system is a game-changer for us because we’ve eliminated the need for operators to work in exclusion zones, manually tagging each bundle, which reduces the risk of injury,” said Francis.
“Not only does the robot ensure each tag is placed correctly, but it also verifies the data on the tag matches the tracking system before application, giving us much-needed traceability and reliability which benefits both InfraBuild and our customers.
“The commitment to innovation and operational excellence at InfraBuild means benefits to safety, efficiency and customers.”
As a vertically integrated electric arc furnace steel manufacturer and recycler, InfraBuild is exploring opportunities to roll out this technology to other sites across Australia, further reinforcing its commitment to safety, efficiency and innovation.
