While she does not recall what first drew her to construction, Ekaterina Lanshakova, now a contracts administrator at Mirvac, can’t imagine being anywhere else. Her journey began 10 years ago when she moved to Australia, where finding work, especially in Queensland, proved to be a test of persistence. Rejections came frequently, often citing her lack of local experience or her accent as barriers. The project aims to enhance healthcare in Melbourne’s south-east, increasing capacity to treat an additional 35,000 patients annually once fully operational. Victoria’s minister for health infrastructure, Mary-Anne Thomas, recently visited the site and highlighted the potential of the project. “We’re transforming health services for families in Frankston, the Mornington Peninsula and right across Melbourne’s south-east – delivering them the world-class healthcare they need, closer to home,” said Thomas.
