Royal Far West has selected Multiplex as its construction partner to deliver its Manly beachfront development, comprising the luxurious Aurora apartments, revitalised accommodation for country families and a blend of retail, commercial and lifestyle related spaces.

For nearly a century, RFW, a children’s healthcare charity, has been improving the health and wellbeing of children residing in rural and remote regions. This mission involves bringing them and their families to Manly for health treatments and pioneering telehealth services in remote areas. The decision to develop its land represents a bold step towards securing the sustainability of the charity, ensuring its ability to provide essential paediatric health services in response to the growing needs of rural children and families who lack access to vital services in their communities.

David Ghannoum, regional managing director for New South Wales at Multiplex, expressed excitement about collaborating with Royal Far West (RFW) to bring the project to fruition, benefiting the charity, prospective buyers and the community.

“We’re delighted to be working with eminent charity RFW,” said Ghannoum. “As a significant member of Manly’s community, we understand RFW are cautious custodians of this important beachfront site and we’re grateful they’ve put their trust in us.”

“We have an unwavering commitment to delivering a beautiful quality outcome for the myriad of stakeholders behind this landmark project.”

Aurora will boast 58 luxurious apartments spread across two buildings, offering one to three bedrooms. The architectural brilliance of Glenn Murcutt and Angelo Candalepas, complemented by the interior design finesse of Carr and the landscaping expertise of Jane Irwin Landscape Architecture, makes Aurora a testament to visionary design.

In addition to Aurora, the development will feature a mix of retail, commercial and lifestyle spaces and will include revitalised accommodations for visiting RFW families, as well as serving the local Manly community as a quality guest house. This development underscores RFW’s commitment to delivering an exceptional neighbourhood that enriches the lives of residents and the wider Northern Beaches community.

RFW’s board chairman, Joan Treweeke, is thrilled to see Multiplex appointed on the project. “We believe Multiplex’s track record in delivering some of Australia’s most prestigious projects aligns with the high benchmark demanded by Aurora’s exemplary architectural merit and iconic Manly location, and we know our valued purchasers will reap the rewards of Multiplex’s depth of experience for generations to come,” said Treweeke.

“The development will enable the charity to increase its generous work for country kids in need, as well as future-proof its services for the next 100 years.”

Aurora apartments successfully launched to the market in May 2023. Construction of the development, supported by ANZ, is expected to be completed in 2026.
