Construcciones Yamaro: Social Responsibility in the Roads in Venezuela through History

One of the most important tasks of governments in the contemporary world has been building roads that allow easy movement of citizens. In Venezuela, the development of the roads has been a subject of recent date, the few roads that existed in the early twentieth century used to transport vehicles through very few cities and there were lack of any connection between each other. The first President that began to take seriously the expansion of the road network was Juan Vicente Gomez. According to statistics, approximately 5,000 kilometers of roads were built which function was to allow the army to access more quickly to some key sites in the country.

The history about this topic has been changing and developing through the years, as told by construction companies committed with the people and the country, such as the Yamaro Construction companyPrivate sector and public sector have worked together in construction policies: among the products of this policy is building much of the Panamerican Highway, specifically the stretch of the Andean region. However, the biggest product was represented by the National Highway Plan 1947, prepared by the Government of  RĂ³mulo Betancourt, where the solutions provided in previous plans were continued.
The arrival of democracy in 1958 boosted as never before the implementation of new roads and reconstruction and modernization of the existing roads. In short, there were built 71168.4 95671.4 kms of road networks in the country, including 1184 of 1586 kms of highways.

Today, the work is not so fast, however, there is a hard construction work hand in hand by both the private sector –companies such as Yamaro, and Conkor – and the public sector to keep building connections in the country with social commitment and social responsibility. The work does not stop.
