Construcciones Yamaro: CPB Contractors selected for Woomera Redevelopment Program
CPB Contractors, a member of CIMIC Group, has been selected by the Australian Government’s Department of Defence, in joint venture with Downer, to undertake design development activities for the Woomera Redevelopment Program.
A delivery phase consisting of upgrades to buildings, services and infrastructure is expected to follow – in line with the objectives of the Defence Strategic Review and pending government and parliamentary approvals – with an estimated value of between $500 million and $750 million.
CIMIC Group executive chairman Juan Santamaria said CPB Contractors is pleased to bring its infrastructure and services capabilities, and remote project delivery experience, to the Woomera Redevelopment Program.
“We have a long history of working with the Department of Defence to enhance and sustain base and operational environments,” said Santamaria. “This important project will support Defence personnel with improved facilities and bring opportunities to the local area.”

“Our team will give priority to maximising the opportunities for local community, industry and Indigenous participation during this and future phases,” said Spears.
The Woomera Range Complex is in South Australia, approximately 450 kilometres north-west of Adelaide.
The design development phase has now commenced.
