Construction of Sydney House, an $800 million, 50-storey mixed-use development at 196-204 Pitt Street, is progressing.

The project, a joint venture between Singapore-listed First Sponsor Group and Melbourne-based ICD Property, will offer 241 premium residences above a 136-room hotel. Designed by BVN Architecture (tower and interiors) and FJC Studio (heritage podium), Sydney House aims to combine modern sophistication with heritage elegance.

First Sponsor Group CEO Neo Teck Pheng and ICD Property CEO Matthew Khoo expressed their excitement about bringing Sydney House to market in 2025, describing it as a “sophisticated expression of modern CBD living” with panoramic views of Sydney landmarks such as the Harbour Bridge and Hyde Park.

The project seeks to restore the former City Tattersalls Club site, adding a heritage bar and restaurant, alongside luxurious hotel and event spaces. Neo emphasised that the restoration honours the site’s legacy, transforming historic features into spaces that future generations can enjoy.

CBRE’s senior director of residential projects, Tim Rees, highlighted that Sydney House will become the CBD’s “newest icon,” blending modern architecture with historical grandeur. “Pitt Street is arguably the most significant street in all of Sydney,” said Rees. “Just a stone’s throw from Circular Quay, The Opera House, Hyde Park and Darling Harbour, Sydney House offers seamless connection with the CBD and beyond.”

Future residents will benefit from the new Sydney Metro Pitt Street Station, just one block away, which provides connections to key areas like Martin Place, Barangaroo and North Sydney, with trains running every four minutes during peak hours.

Construction, led by Richard Crookes Constructions, began in early 2023 and is on track for completion in 2027.
