Construcciones Yamaro: Latest designs unveiled for Gunnedah Hospital Redevelopment
Major construction for the $53 million Gunnedah Hospital Redevelopment is now underway, with the latest designs recently unveiled.
The project includes the construction of a new acute services building, which will house an expanded emergency department, along with modern birthing, maternity and inpatient units designed to support contemporary models of care.
Newly released artist’s impressions reveal the design of the new inpatient bedrooms. These rooms will feature a carer’s zone and large windows that offer views of the landscaped courtyards.
The interior design reflects the Gunnedah landscape, featuring contemporary, calming and welcoming spaces developed in consultation with staff and the local community.
Early works, including demolition, have been completed to prepare the site for the next stage of construction. The main hospital entry and reception have also been refurbished to enhance access for patients and visitors.

New South Wales Minister for Regional Health Ryan Park noted that as the project progresses, the community can expect to see an increasing number of builders onsite.
“The new artist’s impressions showcase a health facility that will provide contemporary facilities for patients and a better workplace for staff,” said Park.
Construction is expected to be completed by late 2025, with hospital services continuing to operate throughout the construction period.
The Gunnedah Hospital Redevelopment is being delivered by Health Infrastructure in partnership with the Hunter New England Local Health District and supported by builder Richard Crookes Constructions.
