Construcciones Yamaro: Dalyellup community and youth centre project receives funding boost
The Dalyellup multipurpose community and youth centre project in Western Australia is poised to receive an additional $1 million in funding from the State Government, supplementing the initial $8 million investment made by the state through the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries. This extra funding has been secured to address project cost escalations.
In addition to the state’s contribution, Lotterywest has contributed $1.9 million, while the Shire of Capel has provided $500,000. The Shire of Capel has also submitted an expression of interest with the Commonwealth Government Growing Regions Program for further funding towards the project.
The extra funding allocated to this project, according to WA Regional Development Minister Don Punch, will not only help deliver an exceptional facility to the Dalyellup community but also create local economic and employment opportunities in the process.
“Dalyellup residents consistently tell me there is a need for more facilities to support community activities and services and this project will see one of the most innovative and exciting youth spaces built in regional WA,” said Minister Punch.

The project includes the construction of a multifunctional library and technology hub, a dedicated youth space featuring a digital hub and media facilities, small performance areas, rooms for various activities and business start-ups, and a designated space for a senior citizens club.
Beyond the immediate project scope, the Dalyellup community and youth centre is expected to deliver substantial social and economic benefits to local residents. Additionally, it will contribute to the regional economy by creating approximately 25 full-time construction jobs during the design and construction phases.
This $11.4 million project represents the second stage of the broader Dalyellup District Centre development, which includes other community facilities such as a skate park.
