Construcciones Yamaro: BESIX Watpac appoints new general manager for NSW
BESIX Watpac has announced the appointment of Giovanni Polimeni as the company’s new general manager for New South Wales. With a commendable 18-year tenure at BESIX Watpac and a total of 23 years of industry experience, Polimeni transitions from his role as the company’s operations manager for NSW.
Mark Baker, chief executive officer of BESIX Watpac, expressed his confidence in the appointment of Polimeni to this role.
“Giovanni is part of the fabric of BESIX Watpac NSW and his exceptional understanding of the region, honed over nearly two decades with the company, positions him as a valuable leader in his new role,” said Baker.

As the operations manager for NSW, Polimeni managed the state’s construction division from an operational perspective, leading teams to deliver projects safely and to the highest quality standards.
With nearly two decades at BESIX Watpac, Polimeni has managed large and complex projects, including the Sydney Metro Barangaroo Station and the award-winning Poly Centre, spanning various sectors.
Known for his commitment and collaborative leadership, Polimeni said he looks forward to strengthening BESIX Watpac’s position in the region.
“I am eager to continue fostering our strong client and partner relationships in the state and will continue to work closely with our network to achieve the best outcomes on the projects BESIX Watpac delivers while also continuing to build our NSW portfolio,” Polimeni said. “We have a fantastic team in NSW; we have time and again proven our ability to deliver complex projects.”
