Armando Iachini: Construcciones Yamaro / Yamaro Construction Business Promotes Workplace Safety
Do you know about the activities that take
place on April 28th, the WorldDay for Safety and Health at Work? They are meant to raise worldwide awareness about workplace
accidents and work-related illnesses.
This year, the date took on a special meaning,
as it helped creating a campaign for both
employers and employees to learn about and aim to create habits that encourage
a safe workplace, and the elimination of child workers.
Worldwide, there’s an estimated 541 million
workers aged between 15 and 24 years old, representing 15% of the whole world’s
workforce.
However, the same workers are also part of negative statistics such
as the non-fatal workplace accidents
one, which is 40% times higher than that of adult workers older than 25 years
old.
April 28th is the day for
international awareness about safety and health in syndicates, employer
organizations and government representatives, which is why the International Labour Organization (ILO) recognizes the shared responsibility between
all of these entities, and encourages them to promote a safety-conscious
workplace environment, hoping to avoid work-related
deaths, injuries and illnesses, allowing workers to safely return home at
the end of the work day. Starting on
2003, ILO honors the victims of workplace deaths and illnesses.
Every day, 6.300 people die due to work related
illnesses or accidents, and prevention awareness is essential in making sure
fatal events don’t mar business records, which is why Construcciones Yamaro / Yamaro Construction
Business trains and educates its staff, so they themselves can be sure of their
own safety.
