Armando Iachini: The Importance of Food and Work Rest

In all the countries, the construction area is one of the most demanded areas and the one that generates the most revenue. Thus, it is one of the works that requires the most working force.

That is why it is important for enterprises to comply with a series of parameters in order to have their workers at their best performance and the objective of each project is achieved.

In Venezuela, the working time must not exceed 8 hours per day. The additional time must be counted with extra revenue and must not exceed 10 hours per month, according to the Organic Work and Workers Law that has vigor since 2013.

The norm establishes other benefits that employees must enjoy; elements considered as inexorable in a boss-worker relationship.

Within the 8-hour block, workers must have free time to eat. In construction places, the body energy demand is superior to the management areas. That is why it is necessary to have well-fed workers in order to avoid anemia, faints, and other kinds of illnesses.

It is important that enterprises allow their employees to comply with one hour of integral rest and having space for enjoyment that is enough to take a nap. Workers can gain energy and continue with their work after recess time.

Enterprises must contemplate rest as working time because this guarantees a better performance of the workers. They are vital tools to achieve short, medium, and long -term goals. That is why resting hours must not be considered as a loss of money.
