Construcciones Yamaro: GHD appoints new global CEO
GHD has announced the appointment of Jim Giannopoulos as its new global CEO, succeeding Ashley Wright. This planned transition process, announced to shareholders and employees in December 2023, continues the employee-owned company’s history of succession from within its operations.
Giannopoulos, most recently CEO of the Americas, brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having overseen GHD’s operations in Canada, the USA and Chile over the past four years. With a career spanning over three decades since his start as a graduate chemical engineer at the company, he has held various leadership and project roles across Australia, Asia, Canada and the United States.
A Chartered Professional Engineer and fellow of Engineers Australia, Giannopoulos is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. He will be based in Melbourne, Australia.
