Construcciones Yamaro: Contractor selected for new Bundaberg Hospital project
The Queensland Government has selected CPB Contractors, a member of CIMIC Group, as the managing contractor to deliver stage one of the new Bundaberg Hospital.
CPB Contractors will lead the design phase of the project which involves the design of a new six-storey hospital for acute, medical, surgical and mental health services, as well as emergency, clinical support services, and associated infrastructure. CPB Contractors may follow with the construction phase of the project.
CIMIC Group Executive Chairman Juan Santamaria said CPB Contractors has extensive experience in the delivery of health infrastructure and is pleased to be selected for construction of the new hospital.
“This is an important project that will provide the local community with a future-proofed modern health facility to meet their needs, improving access to emergency, surgical, paediatric and mental health facilities,” said Santamaria. “We will work with Queensland’s health system to deliver an innovative, modern and flexible design.”
Part of the Queensland Government’s $9.78 billion Queensland Health and Hospitals Plan (Capacity Expansion Program), the new Bundaberg Hospital has an overall value of $1.2 billion.

“The project will employ a peak workforce of approximately 500 people and generate more than 2,500 local jobs during construction, enhancing local capability through key opportunities in Indigenous employment, procurement, apprenticeships and traineeships,” said Spears.
