some information provided by Yamaro about some rock types that are used in the
construction industry.
It is well
known that when making the choice of materials for a project, you
must keep in mind the guidelines to follow previously:
- Consideration about what you need: less resistant materials or not.
- Considerations about the place you will be working at.
- Budget.
- Use of the structure.
Different uses |
All these
factors and others, tell you what are the materials you will need to use:
Sandstone: it comes in a range of varied colors; they could
be brown, red, white and gray, tan, yellow, or pink. It is commonly used in the
construction industry because it is very resistant to different hard
situations, as well as for being easy to work with. For its heat
resistance, it is commonly used in floors, fireplaces and cobblestones.
Among the minerals that make up the material we can find quartz and
feldspar.
Sandstone |
Slate: it is a sedimentary rock formed
from clay and volcanic ash. Is an extremely hard, non-porous rock.
Among its uses we can distinguish flooring and paving stones. This type of rock can usually
come in shades of gray, but is also found in shades of
blue, green and purple.
Finishes of marble for interiors |
Marble: it is one of the most used rocks in
the construction industry. It is usually polished to give a better finish. Its
uses range from countertops, floors and through a variety of decorative
finishes. Its weather resistance makes it ideal for buildings and we can
see in colors like white, brown, gray, pink, green, blue, black and yellow.
Granite: it is commonly used in floors or counters. Granite is
formed by magma and also contains uranium. We can find this rock
from pink to gray colors. It is used to give a better finish to construction
details.
